Job Description A day in the life You start your morning at a facility somewhere around Charlotte, NC, roll out the drawings, and map out the day’s plan. You measure and mark runs, cut pipe to precise lengths and angles, assemble systems to spec, and bring complex layouts to life. Before you leave, you pressure-test the lines to verify there are no leaks, clean the work area, log what was completed, and flag any issues to your supervisor. Then it’s on to the next site—collaborating with other trades, keeping safety front and center, and applying up-to-date industry practices to deliver reliable piping systems. What you'll work on
Install, assemble, and repair mechanical piping systems in a variety of facilities following specifications and drawings. Lay out routes, measure accurately, and cut pipe to size and angle using the right tools for the job. Perform leak checks and system tests to confirm proper operation and compliance with requirements. Coordinate field activities with contractors and other crafts to keep schedules on track. Maintain a tidy, hazard-free workspace and follow all safety procedures. Record completed tasks and promptly report concerns or discrepancies to supervision. Stay informed on current codes, standards, and best practices. What you bring
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship is preferred. Hands-on experience as a pipefitter or in a closely related role. Strong understanding of piping components, materials, and the tools required to work with them. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings with precision. Sharp troubleshooting instincts and strong attention to detail. Clear communication skills and a team-first mindset. Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation for travel across the Charlotte area.
