Position Overview We are seeking an experienced
Construction Project Manager with a strong background in HCAI (formerly OSHPD) regulated healthcare construction. This role is responsible for managing all phases of healthcare facility projects—from preconstruction through closeout—while ensuring compliance with HCAI requirements, maintaining project profitability, and exceeding client expectations. The ideal candidate has a proven track record delivering complex hospital, medical office, or healthcare renovation projects in occupied and sensitive environments. Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of healthcare construction projects in compliance with HCAI standards.
Manage budgets, schedules, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Oversee project documentation, progress reports, and cost tracking to ensure accurate financial performance.
Collaborate with superintendents, architects, engineers, and HCAI inspectors to resolve design or field challenges.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
Lead project meetings with owners, design teams, and regulatory agencies.
Ensure infection control protocols and interim life safety measures are followed during construction in occupied facilities.
Support project closeout including punch list, commissioning, and turnover.
Mentor and support project engineers and other team members.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
8+ years of experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years focused on HCAI/OSHPD healthcare projects.
Strong knowledge of HCAI codes, standards, and approval processes.
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractor performance on complex projects.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in project management and construction software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar).
OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
Experience managing projects in occupied healthcare environments is strongly desired.
