THIS IS AN TEMP TO PERM POSITION!!!!!!
SUMMARY Assembles and plumbs metal furniture such as hoods, uprights, TFG furniture, etc. by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates machines such as pneumatic drivers, stacking machine, and other assembly equipment to assemble components to specified dimensions. Utilizing various hand and power tools to fit and assemble components as required. Duties with guidance from a Special Plumber or Master Plumber: Selects parts, tools, and equipment applicable to both technical and laboratory furniture pre-plumb systems. Clean, measure, and cut brass pipes, copper tubes, and fittings for oxygen service. Measure, cut, and thread copper, brass, and black iron piping. Apply thread sealant to threaded pipe or fitting to make a leak tight joint. Repair, inspect, and leak test threaded, brazed, soldered, and swaged joints.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Mechanical ability is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Knowledge of basic blueprints.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
