What Youll Do: As a Peer Support Specialist, youll offer meaningful, person-centered support to individuals facing mental health or substance use challenges. Your lived experience will be your most powerful tool in helping clients regain confidence, independence, and direction. Key Responsibilities: Provide compassionate, one-on-one peer support to individuals navigating recovery. Share personal insights and experiences to foster trust, resilience, and hope. Assist clients in setting and working toward personal wellness and recovery goals. Lead or co-facilitate peer-led support groups and community-building activities. Partner with a multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure holistic and individualized care.

What Were Looking For: Lived experience in recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges. Active North Carolina Peer Support Specialist certification (required). Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help others grow. Team-oriented with a recovery-first, client-centered mindset. Ability to maintain professional boundaries while offering empathetic support.

Required Qualifications: Current and active Peer Support Specialist Certification in the state of North Carolina (required). Demonstrated lived experience in recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse individuals. Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professionalism.
