Role
Executive Consultant-Facilitator, Strategist and Meeting Design Expert
provides expert meeting design, consulting services, analysis and coordination support to assist transformation efforts. The ideal candidate has experience with strategic planning; organizational change management and communications; and meeting design and facilitation.
Responsibilities
Provide thought leadership and expert meeting design and facilitation to drive interagency change initiatives and address complex disaster-related issues. Engage customers, deliver presentations, lead workshops and meetings, and assist groups in resolving issues. Maintain a strategic view of meetings and interdependencies to ensure outcomes support disaster mitigation and resiliency. Meet with clients and senior leaders to understand purposes, intents, and desired outcomes for workshops and stakeholder events. Think strategically, manage risks, translate strategies into actionable plans, and contribute to project schedules and deliverables. Design and deliver organizational change management approaches focusing on stakeholder engagement, adoption, and communication. Coordinate meeting-related tasks and review work products for completeness and alignment with client requirements. Develop meeting agendas, speaking notes, and content for presentations. Handle meeting logistics, participant invites, materials, summaries, and minutes. Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to drive completion of action items and track meeting-related items for internal teams and leadership groups. Maintain the SharePoint repository and develop communications to convey information and gain buy-in. Develop conclusions, write reports, and assist with briefings and presentations; prepare communications for senior leadership, Congress, and the Administration. Provide coaching and mentoring to team members as appropriate; demonstrate ability to work independently.
Education
BA/BS degree in a related field (e.g., Public Relations, Public Affairs, Communication, Journalism, Business, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Organizational Change Management, or Political Science). IAF certification required or certification in progress.
Skills
Ability to deal with ambiguity and operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to take a leadership role when necessary. Detail-oriented with the ability to assimilate and apply new concepts quickly. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including writing white papers and delivering presentations. Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and summarize complex documents; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Experienced leader with appropriate industry experience; strategic, forward-thinking, ethical with strong professional image. Well-organized, self-directed, politically savvy, and able to relate to people at all levels; capable of big-picture thinking and strong operational focus. Ability to articulate and present clearly to diverse audiences.
Experience
Minimum of 12 years of experience in a related field; meeting facilitation for federal government customers preferred. Experience with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Compensation and Location
The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $200,000 per year. Salary is contingent on factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and organizational needs. Primary work location is the Washington, D.C. Metro area. Remote work is allowed but not guaranteed. Travel expenses are not reimbursed for those outside the commutable area.
