This position will be 100% remote within the Austin, TX metro area. This is a commissioned outside sales position. We are looking for a Mortgage Loan Originator to work exclusively with us as our Texas Mortgage Lending (TML) partner. You will be highly skilled in outside mortgage sales and have a passion for delivering the highest level of member service with a desire to be extremely successful in a competitive sales environment. This is a commissioned outside sales position responsible for loan production, while satisfying borrower's mortgage financial needs, and meeting individual, department and organization goals. The majority of your time will be spent in the field meeting with potential clients, referral sources, realtors and business prospects at their homes and places of employment, or in other settings outside of the office environment, with the purpose of generating loans within their market area. What You Will Do Each Day Make sales calls and develop relationships within the community to attract new mortgage applications, specifically with real estate agents, builders and title companies. Counsel borrower on Credit Union loan programs and pricing through knowledge of key lending concepts in order to provide guidance on the best loan product to meet their individual needs. Negotiate terms and conditions as permitted by policy to ensure customer satisfaction and receive borrower commitment. Secure accurate and complete loan applications and gather all necessary documentation in order to process mortgage loans and verify that the agreed upon terms meet the terms of qualification. Discuss rate options with borrower and lock loans in accordance with rate lock pricing and policies. Respond to borrower inquiries in a timely manner. Ensure that we deliver on our commitments by keeping borrower updated on the process from application through settlement. Communicate with buyer and seller realtors throughout the loan process to develop strategic relationships with realtor contacts. Communicate with Operations personnel to ensure satisfaction of required documentation to ensure timely loan closing. Maintain working knowledge of all loan products and pricing. Provide clear expectations to set a sense of urgency with the borrower and all parties involved in the loan transaction. Maintain in-depth knowledge of programs, policies and procedures as well as pertinent regulations and compliance issues. Maintain a clean pipeline of committed borrowers. Additional duties as assigned. What Skills and Knowledge You Need: Excellent sales and service skills in a direct to consumer sales environment. Strong work ethic. Aptitude for learning. Working knowledge of mortgage loan underwriting concepts, techniques, terminology, loan products and regulatory guidelines. Ability to build and develop a network of referral sources (realtors, title companies, industry professionals). Demonstration of effective sales techniques, referral generation and pipeline production. Strong analytical skills and ability to make lending decisions and translate guidelines. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a team. Excellent negotiating and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook). General knowledge of income/asset documentation and calculations. Must be able to handle borrowers and third-party vendors in a professional manner. Encompass or similar LOS experience preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired. Education and Experience

: Accredited Bachelor's degree or some college coursework in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or other related field is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of real estate lending experience. A knowledge of Conventional (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac), Government (FHA, VA), and Texas Home Equity lending or an equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Outside Sales and Marketing experience in Real Estate industry preferred. Licenses: Must have the ability to obtain a NMLS license with in the first 30 days of employment. Must not be on an agency watch list or banned list to include but not limited to HUD, FNMA, FHMC or NCUA. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, solution-focused, customer service driven, with high level of ownership and accountability.
