Job Title: Credit Manager
Reports to: Controller
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Summary: The Credit Manager will be responsible for the customer's line of credit applications and will conduct credit investigations and resolution of outstanding AR balances. This position will support the finance department along with sales and marketing. Supervisory Responsibilities: Staff Accountant
D u t i e s / R e s p o n s i b i l i t i e s :
• Credit Assessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential clients by analyzing financial data, credit reports, and payment histories.
• Credit Policy Development: Develop and implement credit policies and procedures that align with the company's objectives while minimizing credit risks. • Credit Decision Making: Make informed decisions on extending credit to clients based on analysis, risk assessment, and company guidelines.
• Credit Limit Determination: Set appropriate credit limits for clients, taking into account their financial stability and credit history.
• Collections Management: Oversee the collections process, ensuring timely payments from clients and minimizing overdue accounts.
• Credit Monitoring: Monitor credit accounts regularly to identify any signs of financial distress or default risks.
• Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to facilitate smooth credit transactions and resolve any issues or disputes effectively.
• Credit Reporting: Prepare and present credit reports to management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and potential risks.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing credit transactions, such as Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA).
• Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to the credit department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
E d u c a t i o n a n d E x p e r i e n c e :
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Credit Executive) is a plus.
• Proven experience in credit management, risk assessment, and collections, preferably in a similar industry or financial institution.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound credit decisions.
