Medical Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring patient arrival, assisting with patient flow, and ensuring that patients and visitors are greeted promptly and courteously. You will escort patients to exam rooms, monitor patient wait times, assist patients in preparing for exams, and inform physicians when patients are ready. You will also obtain and record patients' chief complaints, data, medical histories, vital signs, allergies, and specimen collections, all while maintaining meticulous documentation within the patients' charts. Prepare and maintain medical records, taking heights, weights, and vital signs. Ensure lab and other reports are on record before each patient's appointment. Provide interpretation services and clerical support necessary for efficient and effective office functioning. Maintain examination rooms and medical areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Stock examination rooms with supplies and verify supplies from vendors against packing slips as assigned. Update pertinent patient information, including medical insurance coverage and eligibility in the appropriate EMR system. Retrieve and file medical reports and lab results. Maintain and ensure patient health information confidentiality according to HIPAA rules. Proficiency in taking vitals and using an EMR system. Experience in scheduling appointments. 2+ years of healthcare experience. Familiarity with EPIC and other patient care systems. Medical assisting certification or equivalent experience. Join a busy outpatient office located in various locations including Scarsdale, Hawthorne, and White Plains. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a patient load of 50-100 patients a day. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Plains, New York. The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
