Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant with a strong foundation in accounting principles to join our team. This role involves preparing tax returns, financial reports, and tax planning by analyzing financial information.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Distribute expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules.
  • Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and write narrative reports explaining findings.
  • Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize and interpret the company's financial position.
  • Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
  • Determine proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits.
  • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries and documents.
  • Modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
  • Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.

Essential Skills

  • 8-10 years of public tax accounting experience, focusing on review and preparation for corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.
  • Active CPA in Oregon or Washington.
  • Proficiency in GAAP, including journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Experience with CCH Axcess software.
  • Savvy with Excel and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with an MBA or CMA preferred.

Pay and Benefits
