Senior Tax Accountant
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant with a strong foundation in accounting principles to join our team. This role involves preparing tax returns, financial reports, and tax planning by analyzing financial information.
Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
- Distribute expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules.
- Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and write narrative reports explaining findings.
- Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize and interpret the company's financial position.
- Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Determine proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits.
- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries and documents.
- Modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
- Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
Essential Skills
- 8-10 years of public tax accounting experience, focusing on review and preparation for corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.
- Active CPA in Oregon or Washington.
- Proficiency in GAAP, including journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Experience with CCH Axcess software.
- Savvy with Excel and ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with an MBA or CMA preferred.
