Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Financial Manager, this position will perform general accounting duties, prepare financial reports and invoices, and monitor accounts receivable following generally accepted accounting principles and procedures. This position will collaborate with Accountants in Accounting Services and campus stakeholders to analyze and reconcile financial data for sponsored programs (including federal, state, and private funds) and the general ledger.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Accounting Services, a department within Financial Operations, maintains accurate and auditable financial records for the UW-Stevens Point campuses. As the hub of financial data, Accounting Services will provide necessary reports and services to on campus and off campus agencies in an efficient and timely manner.
Financial Operations is a department within the Division of Finance and Administration, committed to providing a variety of business and financial services to support the UW-Stevens Point community while ensuring proper internal control in accordance with UW System, State and Federal requirements. The UW-Stevens Point Associate Vice Chancellor and Controller is the Director of Financial Operations.
Compensation:
$48,000 - $55,000, minimum annually, based on qualifications and experience

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, interprets, and processes complex extramural award actions to ensure financial requirements per federal, state, university, and sponsor regulations are followed on behalf of the institution
- Audits and approves financial transactions such as subaward invoices, PI transfers, refunds, payments, cost transfers and fiscal closeout of awards and projects
- Answers questions and advises campus stakeholders of correct processes and procedures for award management
- Prepares and analyzes financial reports and invoices, data and records, identifies discrepancies, investigates, and recommends solutions as needed for accuracy on sponsored grants and contracts
- Works within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to establish awards, review expenditures, issue invoices, manage accounts receivable, and process post award modifications

Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in accounting or financial operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
- Computer proficiency with elevated skills in Microsoft 365 - specifically Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- Ability to interpret and apply financial policies and procedures in a university setting.
- Able to independently research and implement process improvements.
- Experience with financial and sponsored program systems such as Workday and RAMP.
- Familiarity with extramural grant compliance and reporting.
- Understanding of OMB Uniform Guidance requirements.
- Knowledge of University of Wisconsin System and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point accounting policies and procedures.
