Job Summary
The IT Desktop Support will provide technical assistance and support for incoming service requests and incidents related to computer systems, software, hardware, and infrastructure both in-person and remotely from a manufacturing facility. The technician will utilize internal training, prior knowledge, and informed judgment to diagnose, resolve, or appropriately route tickets in accordance with documented processes. This role emphasizes technical troubleshooting, customer engagement, and delivering excellent in-person support while adhering to service management principles and team guidelines.

Education
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Associate Degree preferred

Minimum 1+ year of hardware experience (beyond imaging/deployment)
Minimum 1+ year of customer service / in-person support experience

This role emphasizes technical troubleshooting, customer engagement, and delivering excellent in-person support while adhering to service management principles and team guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and infrastructure issues both onsite and remotely
- Perform Active Directory administration and support corporate mobile devices
- Support cloud applications (OneDrive, Box, Office 365, etc.) and troubleshoot Cisco VPN connectivity
- Provide support for Citrix connectivity and remediate Symantec Endpoint Protection issues
- Use Dameware for remote connections and Altiris Deployment Server for device imaging
- Manage IT assets, install/configure Adobe products, Check Point endpoint software, and browser support
- Troubleshoot and install printer drivers, conference room equipment, and IP telephony devices
- Administer Box users, provide Cisco WebEx support, and utilize ServiceNow for ticketing
- Perform standard device imaging via USB/PXE servers
- Handle hardware ordering, deployment, documentation, knowledge base usage, and records management
- Schedule customers, provide follow-ups, and move end user equipment (disconnect/reconnect)
- Participate in projects, multi-team collaboration, and technical roundtables
- Perform Smart-Hands tasks/functions beyond standard operational work
- Maintain customer communication, follow-up on requests, and provide status updates
- Adhere to SLA, priority matrix, and customer service standards
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 11, MS Office 365 Suite, and common enterprise applications
- Familiarity with networking (VPN, Citrix), endpoint protection, and device imaging
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and organization
- Capable of lifting equipment up to 40 pounds
- Experience supporting Cisco WebEx, Box administration, and ServiceNow
- Knowledge of Altiris Deployment, Dameware, and Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Familiarity with conference room equipment, IP telephony, and Check Point software
- Experience working in a manufacturing or corporate environment
