*Job Title: Church Architect / Design Director *

*Location:* Tulsa, OK (In-Person) *Position Type:* Full-Time / Regular *Pay:* $90,000 – $130,000 per year
*About the Opportunity:* An established, fast-growing Design-Build firm is launching a new architectural division and is seeking a highly skilled *Architect with Church building experience* to lead that charge. This is a rare opportunity to step into a *founding leadership role* with long-term *ownership potential*, helping to shape the architectural vision of a company that’s already thriving in the construction space.
*Position Summary:* You’ll be the cornerstone of this new architecture department — initially working independently while managing outsourced architectural partners, and ultimately building a full in-house team around you. If you’re a hands-on architect with leadership instincts, strategic thinking, and a desire for real ownership, this is your chance to leave your mark.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Lead all architectural design efforts for commercial projects from concept through construction. * Oversee outsourced architecture partners — review plans, ensure quality and code compliance, and manage timelines. * Collaborate closely with construction and preconstruction teams to ensure design aligns with budgets and buildability. * Conduct site analysis, code reviews, and research zoning and permitting requirements. * Produce construction documents and design packages as needed. * Manage design consistency and documentation standards across all projects. * Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and support construction teams during execution. * Participate in client meetings and coordinate with consultants and permitting agencies. * Play a lead role in hiring and mentoring future design staff. * Contribute to proposal efforts and strategic planning as part of the leadership team. * Maintain compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and best practices.
*Qualifications:*
* Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch). * Licensed Architect (preferred, or actively working toward licensure). * 6–8+ years of experience in commercial architecture. * Strong understanding of the Design-Build process is preferred. * Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Bluebeam are a plus. * Excellent knowledge of codes, technical detailing, and permitting. * Confident managing outsourced teams and reviewing third-party design work. * Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset. * Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire for long-term growth and equity. * Experience with Architecture of Church Buildings preferred.
