Job Summary:
The Ranken Jordan Pediatric Hospital Foundation plays a key role in achieving the Hospital’s mission of, as a leader in transitional healthcare, providing exceptional services for children with complex medical needs by reimagining what is possible and inspiring life-changing solutions for patients and families. The Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, managing and executing comprehensive annual giving programs that build and strengthen our donor base through strategic direct response fundraising initiatives and personalized donor engagement. Outcomes, Skills and Collaboration:
Outcomes Expected Meets or exceed contemporaneous annual donor number, visits, and revenue goals. With the Director of Development, develops and implements strategic annual giving plan with measurable objectives. Skills Effective communication in written and oral format Strategic multi-channel fundraising planning and execution Donor relationship management and cultivation Collaboration Expectation Fully collaborate with fellow members of the Foundation Team, the Marketing Team, the Office of the President, and all other Hospital colleagues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Annual Giving Develop and implement comprehensive annual giving strategy and calendar, including direct mail campaigns, online giving initiatives, email marketing and other assigned targeted annual fundraising campaigns and initiatives. Plan, execute and evaluate programs that attract gifts generally of $10,000 or less with focus on donor acquisition, retention and upgrade strategies. Implement annual giving programs designed to grow specific audiences of engaged donors (i.e. grateful patients, employees, monthly sustainers, tribute donors, etc.). Work with patients, patient families, and patient care providers to capture stories to assist with fundraising endeavors. Provide excellent customer service to patients and patient families. Work closely and collaboratively with the Marketing Team to synchronize messaging across channels, including the Foundation website, to motivate donors to support Ranken Jordan. Lead on select special initiatives as determined by the Director of Development. Donor Engagement & Cultivation Conduct personalized outreach to qualified annual giving donors through phone calls, meetings, and written correspondence to strengthen relationships and encourage continued support. In collaboration with gift officers, Identify and implement donor cultivation strategies to move supporters to higher levels of giving. Make thank you calls to donors and provide exceptional stewardship experiences that demonstrate impact and encourage ongoing engagement, working collaboratively with the Donor Relations Manager. Support and provide excellent customer service to special volunteer groups, including the Young Professionals Board. Clerical & Administrative Support Manage all general office operations for the Foundation team including but not limited to managing office supplies, equipment, mail, and other administrative tasks related to Foundation staff performing at their highest level Prepare for meetings including agenda, notes, action item tracking, room set up, video/audio conferencing and more. Assist in maintaining files and records with effective organizational systems. Attempt to initially answer inbound phone calls to departmental phone system. Respond to calls as best as possible, researching and routing questions and general interest to proper teammate. Manage departmental volunteer(s) and provide oversight for volunteer tasks and projects. The Development Coordinator also: Understands the importance of major gifts and grants to meeting the Team’s shared goal. Assists with event set up, onsite management, and clean up as able. Deeply understands the Vision, Mission and Values of Ranken Jordan and, in accordance, always maintains appropriate professional behavior. Values a culture of continuous improvement and learning, staying apprised of best practices related to their job functions. Always respects and maintains confidentiality of information. Adheres to the highest standards of documentation with respect to constituent interactions.
Qualifications:
Required: Baccalaureate, preferably in the discipline of marketing, communications, business, or nonprofit management Required: Exceptional organizational, writing and verbal communication skills. Required: Ability to work flexible hours as needed for events and meetings. Required: Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite. Preferred: Two years of experience at a charitable organization in the health care or social services sector including one year of experience producing print and/or electronic fundraising appeals. Preferred: Two or more years of experience in project management reflecting a track record of success. Preferred: Experience with Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge NXT.
Physical Demands:
These include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, pulling, pushing, standing, carrying, and lifting of light loads (up to 35 lb.)
