Customer Service Representative – Call Center (Hybrid)

Location: Columbia, MD

The Customer Service Representative is a vital member of the back-office support team for our Automated Traffic Safety Enforcement program. This role involves providing a variety of customer service and clerical duties in a fast-paced office environment. Responsibilities include answering inbound calls, verifying violation images, validating vehicle information, assisting with payments, and performing data entry. The ideal candidate is efficient, dependable, and accountable. This is a hybrid position based in Columbia, MD, offering a mix of remote and in-office work.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls from citizens regarding parking violation notices.
• Provide clear and accurate information about programs and services.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of calls, documents, data entry, scheduling, and mailings.
• Maintain a professional, empathetic, and customer-focused demeanor.
• Navigate multiple computer applications confidently and competently.
• Stay up-to-date on program details and technical knowledge for each client.
• Communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Document customer interactions clearly and concisely.

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of customer service experience, including 1 year in an inbound call center.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive situations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Typing speed of 30–35 words per minute.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to perform basic word processing, database maintenance, and system updates.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
