Overview

Administrative Assistant role at Southland Industries. Perform a variety of clerical and general office tasks in support of the assigned location or department.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide clerical support to a group or location, as directed, including data-entry on existing worksheets/programs and correspondence typing and distribution.
  • Maintain and set-up filing system. Photocopy documents as required.
  • Answer routine questions and follow-through on routine requests.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing mail; including mail pick-ups and deliveries, sorting, distributing, weighing and posting outgoing mail and packages.
  • Act as primary operator on a variety of office equipment (e.g., copier, fax, binding equipment, etc.).
  • Order and maintain sufficient office supplies for the assigned group.
  • Ensure items are stored in an orderly fashion.
  • Provide backup support to the office receptionist, as needed.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • 1-2 years business school or clerical training
  • Knowledge of office routines and business machines
  • Ability to type 50-60 WPM accurately
  • Knowledge and accuracy in arithmetic
