Overview

Retail Merchandise Associate at The TJX Companies, Inc.

Location: Roanoke, VA (TJ Maxx Store 0261). Starting pay range: $12.41 to $12.91 per hour (depends on skills, qualifications, and experience).

This role delivers a highly satisfied customer experience, engages with all customers, adheres to operational, merchandising, and loss prevention standards, and may be cross-trained to support multiple areas of the store.

Responsibilities

• Role model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers
• Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect
• Accurately ring customer purchases/returns and count change back to the customer according to procedures
• Promote credit and loyalty programs
• Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow merchandising procedures and standards
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures
• Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and store overall
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Support and participate in shrink reduction goals and programs
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment
• Other duties as assigned

• Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Capable of multi-tasking
• Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
• Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation
• Works effectively with peers and supervisors
• Retail customer experience preferred
