Heartland Dental is hiring: Dental Assistant in Auburndale

Overview

Dental Assistant position at Heartland Dental – Auburndale, FL. This role supports the clinical and administrative needs of the office and focuses on delivering excellent patient care.

Work Schedule

No weekends. Example schedules include:

• Monday Off
• Tuesday 7:30am-5:00pm
• Wednesday 9:30am-7:00pm
• Thursday 7:00am-5:00pm
• Friday 6:30am-4:00pm

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients, support patient comfort, and provide education throughout treatment
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists per state regulations
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols and OSHA & CDC guidance
• Manage supplies and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed
• Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize workflow

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environments
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state law
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• HIPAA training and PHI protection as applicable

Preferred Experience

• 1+ year(s) of dental office experience
• Dentrix or other dental software experience
• Dental assisting school certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
• Prolonged sitting/standing
• Lift/carry up to 45 pounds occasionally
• Occasional travel for virtual or in-person training
• TB test required for new hires in dental offices (not applicable in FL & TN)
