Quality
Technician: Lena,
Illinois
Our customer in Lena, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Quality Technicians to work full-time on 2nd shift. As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet legal and internal specifications for food safety and standards of identity before leaving the facility. This includes testing ingredients, in-process samples, and finished products, as well as immediately holding out-of-spec product and reporting deviations to management.
Responsibilities of the

Technician
:
Maintain the LIMS system by creating, updating, and removing product specifications as needed. Assist in new product and material evaluations and dispositions. Review daily processing and receiving data in LIMS and identify non-conformances. Perform monthly equipment verifications using DQCI standards and confirm acceptable standard deviations. Correct inventory issues in SAP by identifying pallets not properly scanned. Manage the hold and release program by updating the Quality Holds Report, marking product dispositions in SAP, and completing daily product releases. Review finished product and environmental pathogen data from 3rd-party lab reports, record results, and report non-conformances. Collect finished product samples and submit for pathogen testing quarterly. Maintain EU conformance documentation for batches exported to the EU. Review incoming raw material COAs against specifications and release materials in SAP. Participate in daily sensory evaluation. Assist with data entry for monthly reports. Communicate and coordinate projects with operations and distribution teams regarding non-conforming products. Assist QA Manager with maintaining lab inventory and ordering supplies as needed. Serve as QA technical resource when QA Manager is offsite by providing guidance and attending meetings. Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records. Quality

Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience in a lab environment,
or
BS in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, or Dairy Science with no experience. Internal auditor training. Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English. Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs and perform occasional stooping, kneeling, or climbing. Strong vision capabilities including close, distance, color, and depth perception. Preferred:
Previous food industry experience, particularly in cheese and/or dairy. Knowledge of LIMS software. Pay for
