Low Voltage Cable Technician

Job Description BCS Consultants (BCS) is an audiovisual systems, low-voltage cabling, and security solutions installer based in Irvine, California. BCS provides audiovisual integration services ranging from design-build consulting through project planning to post-installation training and support. We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, ambitious team player to join our growing team as an Entry-Level Cable Technician with lots of room for growth! This position involves new Category 5e and Category 6 cabling, fiber optic installations, and projects involving AV, security surveillance, and access control systems. Candidates should have strong knowledge and in-field experience with low-voltage installations. The Cable Technician will primarily be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper, coax, and fiber optic cables, and may assist in other areas such as installing professional AV/video conferencing systems, security cameras, and access control solutions. Benefits include: Competitive rate based on experience Paid holidays, vacation, and sick days Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) plan Professional, exciting, and fun work environment Challenging work in a team atmosphere that encourages success Job Duties and Responsibilities: Run, terminate, pull, and test copper cables (Category 5e and Category 6) Run, terminate, pull, and test fiber optic and A/V (coax, etc.) cables Assemble new rack equipment (2-post, 4-post, ladder racking, wire management, etc.) Test and troubleshoot cabling and A/V issues Install items such as access points, time clocks, paging equipment, A/V equipment, etc. Assist with other tasks as needed Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years hands-on experience with cabling in the field Ability to troubleshoot cabling issues Experience reading blueprints/building plans Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional appearance and ability to work with clients Ability to lift 50 pounds Clean driving record, valid drivers license, insurable Willingness to work flexible hours occasionally Preferred Qualifications: Panduit, Corning, or Systimax certifications Boom and/or scissor lift certifications Cable certification experience (e.g., using Fluke tools) Audio visual installation experience Paging system installation experience If interested, please send your resume to resume@bcsconsultants.com.
