The product line, Oral Drug Delivery Solutions includes polymers and other excipients for oral drug delivery and services for formulation development and GMP manufacturing of oral dosage forms. The product line, Parenteral Drug Delivery Solutions includes polymers, lipids and custom excipients for injectable drug delivery including long acting injectables, lipid nanoparticles, liposomes, vaccines and other novel drug delivery technologies. The product line, Biopharma Solutions provides amino acids, dipeptides and various differentiated offerings for key markets such as; cell culture media, pharmaceutical / biotech, medical device and nutraceuticals.
This position will manage customers on the West Coast of the US with an emphasis on innovator companies.
In addition to product sales, this position will also be responsible for sales targets for contract drug delivery service businesses such as; Vancouver Labs™ (nanoparticle development and manufacturing services), Birmingham Labs™ (microparticle development and commercial injectable fill/finish services), oral development services (sustained release, modified release and solubility enhancement) and custom polymer development and manufacturing services.
The West Coast region of the U.S. has many pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including large multinational companies, generics, small-mid size pharma, virtual companies and contract research/manufacturing organizations. The variety of companies in this territory presents an opportunity for all of the product line's products and services. This is a key region for Evonik Pharma Polymers, with a large existing customer base, and significant opportunities for growth.
The Account Manager, West Coast, is responsible for driving revenue growth and managing key customer relationships across Evonik's Health Care Business Line, focusing on pharmaceutical, medical device, nutraceutical, and biopharmaceutical industries. This role sells a diverse portfolio of products and services, including oral, parenteral, and biopharma drug delivery solutions-while expanding business opportunities in the West Coast territory. The position emphasizes selling both products and contract drug delivery services, building new accounts, and supporting existing customers, particularly innovator pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate revenue and contribution margin for assigned accounts and new customers across products such as EUDRAGIT®, PlasACRYL™, RESOMER®, cQRex™, REXIM®, Northern Lipids® and related APIs/intermediates. Drive sales of contract drug delivery services including Vancouver Labs™, Birmingham Labs™, oral development services, and custom polymer development/manufacturing services. Negotiate and execute confidentiality, supply, service, and quality agreements with target accounts. Conduct customer meetings to promote products, identify opportunities, and qualify prospects with internal technical experts. Prepare proposals, offers, and project submissions in collaboration with technical teams. Participate in key account teams, regional business meetings, conferences, tradeshows, and project teams to expand market reach. Maintain accurate CRM records, including contact details, visit reports, forecasts, and project opportunities. Implement sales and marketing strategies to grow existing accounts and develop new customers in a high-potential territory. REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree required (Technical or Business degree preferred). Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in sales or technical roles. Knowledge of drug delivery systems, solubility enhancement, and modified release formulations is preferred. Strong relationship-building, networking, and contract negotiation skills. Proven ability to sell complex products and services and manage a large, diverse customer base. Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to understand varied product lines and drug delivery technologies to identify new opportunities. Willingness to engage with internal global teams and external stakeholders across R&D, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory, and quality functions. Summary Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. Pay Range:
$108,500-$197,000 per year
