A respected mid-size law firm specializing in employment law, professional liability, construction, toxic torts, business litigation, and general liability is seeking a
Litigation Secretary
to join their
San Diego
team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of supporting multiple attorneys with litigation-heavy caseloads in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Edit, finalize, and prepare legal documents including discovery, motions, letters, reports, pleadings, and Judicial Council forms. Manage state and federal court filings, including e-filing, TOCs/TOAs, and deadline calendaring. Maintain and update court calendars according to both federal and California procedural rules. Perform administrative tasks including phone management, travel coordination, expense reports, and maintaining attorney calendars. Support multiple attorneys with active case files while ensuring deadlines are met. Utilize legal tools and databases such as PACER, Deadline Assistant, Westlaw, iManage, etc. Assist with trial prep, discovery, and filing of court submissions. Review all work for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and compliance with court rules. Remain flexible and ready to take on new tasks or responsibilities as they arise. Qualifications
Minimum
5 years
of litigation secretary experience in a law firm setting. In-depth knowledge of
state and federal court procedures , including e-filing requirements. Demonstrated calendaring proficiency without over-reliance on automated systems. Excellent technical skills in
Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint . Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Professional communication skills with the ability to interface with clients and legal staff. Proven ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. High attention to detail and accuracy, even under tight deadlines. Compensation & Benefits
Salary range:
$75,000
