A prominent San Diego-based litigation practice is seeking a
Litigation Legal Assistant
to support a team of three partners, including the Managing Partner. This is a high-visibility role ideal for someone proactive, organized, and experienced in fast-paced legal environments. Youll join a supportive team with overflow assistance to ensure a manageable workload. Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive case management and legal administrative support to three partners. Prepare, file, and manage state and federal court filings, including pleadings, e-filings, TOCs/TOAs, and discovery documents. Maintain and update legal calendars, including deadlines, hearings, and trial schedules. Draft, format, and proofread legal correspondence and documents; handle redlines and revisions with precision. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors. Assist with deposition prep, discovery coordination, and trial support activities. Manage documents using legal document management systems (iManage or equivalent). Provide general administrative overflow assistance as needed. Qualifications
5+ years
of litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm setting. Business litigation experience required; healthcare litigation experience is a plus. Thorough understanding of
state and federal court rules , including e-filing procedures. High level of
attention to detail , with excellent organization and multitasking skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interact professionally with clients and legal teams. Proficiency in
Microsoft Word (2010 or later) , Outlook, Adobe Pro. Experience with tools such as
iManage, Best Authority, CompuLaw, Comparite, or CCC Macros
