Quatrro Business Support Services is seeking experienced Accounting Managers for its non-profit division.
Location: Remote, but must live in the greater Chicago area. The Senior Accounting Manager serves as a key member of the Accounting team, providing advanced accounting client services and overseeing the work of accounting team members. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of client financial reporting and supports and/or delivers full cycle accounting functions of multiple clients including but not limited to grant management, audit preparation, budgeting, projections, and financial modelling. The Senior Accounting Manager plays a critical role in driving process improvements, enhancing client relationships, and ensuring compliance. Quatrro. Get More to Go On. Roles and Responsibilities: Direct Client Services (80-90%) 1. Serves as primary or secondary point of contact for complex client accounting needs, as assigned. 2. Oversees the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and funder guidelines. 3. Supports the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring proper coding, collections, payment processing, and reporting. 4. Supports the development of comprehensive organizational and grant budgets in collaboration with senior accounting staff and clients. 5. Provides strategic financial insights and recommendations to clients based on in-depth analysis of financial data and key performance indicators. 6. Leads the annual audit preparation for assigned clients, coordinating with auditors and ensuring the accuracy of financial documentation. 7. Ensures client compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including federal, state, and local funding requirements. 8. Manages the implementation and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard client assets and prevent fraud. 9. Evaluates and enhances financial processes and procedures for clients, leveraging technology and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 10. Supports the adoption of cost-saving measures and revenue generation strategies, including the identification of new funding opportunities. 11. Provides advanced technical accounting support, including guidance on revenue recognition, current and/or pending Accounting Standards Updates (ASU’s), and grant compliance such as but not limited to 2 CFR 200 compliance, as applicable. 12. Delivers financial presentations to Client Leadership such as the Executive Director and Program Director. 13. Fosters strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders at each client organization, serving as a trusted financial advisor. 14. Addresses complex client concerns and ensures timely and effective resolution. Supervisory Responsibilities and Other Duties (10-20%): 1. Oversees team deliverables. 2. Manages direct reports and provides mentoring, training, and professional development. 3. Reviews team performance and provides constructive feedback and signoff on individual development plans. 4. Engages and participates in the client’s community and mission through various means such as volunteer opportunities. 5. Other duties as requested. General Knowledge and Skills
: Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, ability to prioritize tasks, excellent interpersonal skills, advanced Excel skills, 2+ years of industry specific experience, business acumen, and ability to communicate with senior
management/executives.
Industry Specific Matters (Preferred)
: Industry Experience: health and human service organizations, with a preference for experience with housing, mental health, or general human service organizations. Grant Experience: federal grant
administration/management
experience preferred, State of Illinois grant administration / GATA experience desired.
Physical demands:
This position requires daily use of fingers, talking, sitting, listening, and vision. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to: computers and keyboards, calculators, writing utensils, and telephones. Employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Travel Requirements:
This position predominantly operates remotely from a home office or at a local office at the employee’s discretion. Travel may be required at the discretion of the Company. Required travel is typically local to client sites in Greater Chicagoland but may require travel out of state for periods of time.
