Data Architect Sr
Position Highlights:
The Sr Data Architect leads and participates in gathering business requirements, analysis of source systems, define underlying data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data model, and develop metadata for the Data Warehouse/Analytical Reporting, ML and AI. Actively participates in setting the direction and strategy for data architecture. Develop and maintain an intimate understanding of business operations. Demonstrate sound business sense and ability to see "the big picture". Assess and document the flow of data between system components. Able to develop, understand and interpret Entity-Relationship, logical and physical data models. Partner with the others to ensure effective data schemas. Document data management processes. Develop and ensure compliance with data modeling, data Integration, data classification, data lineage, Business Intelligence, MDM and Data Quality standards. Managing the enterprise data model and managing all metadata in the current data warehouse environment Ability to cross train and mentor others to develop data analysis and data modeling skills. Facilitate and lead meetings and requirements gathering sessions with end users at all levels (VP, Director, Managers, and Subject Matter Experts). Keeps management, project & product managers, team members and business stakeholders informed of critical issues, project status, changes, etc. Able to embrace and adapt to change while demonstrating flexibility and the ability to develop and follow new processes. Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of scalable, flexible, and secure data architecture solutions. Establishes the roadmap and vision for enterprise scale data architecture, executes on this roadmap to deliver shared frameworks for the broader enterprise application development teams. Develop and maintain logical and physical data models, ensuring that data is organized in a way that supports business requirements. Create and manage data integration strategies for combining data from different sources into a unified platform. Ensure data consistency and reliability across different systems, including transactional databases, data warehouses, and external data sources. Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Implement data security best practices and work with the security team to protect sensitive data. Engages with multiple business units to understand the various challenges and business strategy, develop the data strategy for the various business units, prototype development frameworks and new technologies, help create solutions to deliver on the data strategy. Provide technical guidance to junior data architects, data engineers, and other team members. Work closely with the Enterprise Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Enterprise Architecture teams and will work with various stakeholders across IT and the business to help build a forward-looking strategic enterprise data architecture. Oversee the selection and implementation of database management systems, data lakes, cloud platforms, and other tools for data storage and processing. Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization of data platforms. Remains up to date on key technology, business, industry trends and emerging technologies. Credentials and Experience:
Bachelor's degree - field of study: Computer Science, System Analysis or a related field 10 years experience in full life cycle implementation of integration initiatives
Or
Masters Degree and 6 years experience will be considered Preferred Certifications:

Relevant experience in a research, academic, scientific environment or healthcare provider is a plus. Experience with the creation of reference systems architecture in the data space Demonstrated experience designing and delivering integration and data diagrams Experience working in tandem with and act as a solution focused business partner to our Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, DevOps, IT and Cyber Security teams that have a shared responsibility of maintaining Enterprise Architectural standards Experience designing, building and implementing enterprise-class interfaces, defining and aligning standards, frameworks and data needs with business and technology strategy, identifying and communicating current and emerging innovation in this space.
