As a
Family Partner , youll use your personal experience navigating child-serving systems to guide and support caregivers whose children are receiving behavioral health services. Youll build strong, trust-based relationships with families and provide practical, emotional, and systems-level support as part of a collaborative care team. Direct Family Support
Establish strong, strength-based relationships with parents/caregivers Support parents in achieving treatment plan goals alongside clinicians and care coordinators Teach families how to navigate systems such as DCF, DMH, schools, and outpatient services Help identify and connect families with formal and community-based resources Link families to peer/parent support groups and community networks Encourage empowerment and help families build confidence in parenting Team Collaboration & Communication
Provide insight from a caregivers perspective in team meetings and care planning Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure family voice and choice in all aspects of care Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with program standards Attend supervision and team meetings, and engage in ongoing professional learning Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and cultural responsiveness Who You Are
You are a caregiver with personal experience raising a child or youth with mental health, behavioral, or special needs You understand the challenges families face and can guide them with empathy and encouragement You meet one of the following education/experience requirements:
High school diploma or GED AND 2+ years working with youth/families Associates degree in human services AND 1+ year working with youth/families Bachelors degree in human services AND 1+ year working with the target population
You are familiar with Massachusetts child- and family-serving systems and how to access support You have strong communication and organizational skills, and you work well as part of a team You are culturally responsive and committed to equity and inclusion You have a valid Massachusetts drivers license and a reliable vehicle available during working hours Youre comfortable using email, internet, and documentation software About BHN
