As a Sr. Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for managing complex payroll processing in Canada. Job Description
As a Sr. Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for managing complex payroll processing in Canada. This role requires maintaining compliance with all provincial laws, regulations, and union requirements while ensuring the accuracy of wage calculations, withholdings, deductions, and changes. You will partner with Human Resources to resolve escalated complex payroll cases, ensuring compliance with federal, local, state, wage, and hour laws. You will also review payroll processes for alignment with company philosophy and recommend internal control or efficiency enhancements.
Responsibilities
Process and reconcile complex payrolls to ensure accuracy and compliance. Identify risks and make recommendations to address issues related to accuracy, timeliness, and production. Collaborate with Human Resources to resolve complex payroll cases. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Review and improve payroll processes, recommending enhancements. Create and run reports for year-end data, union fringes, GL data, and other requested items for the US and Canada. Identify and implement union updates affecting payroll configuration. Maintain payroll files and records. Manage child support orders, garnishments, and levies. Assist practitioners with questions and issue resolution. Support internal and external audits. Assist with year-end tasks and reconciliations for Canada and the US. Complete bank and tax reconciliations by payroll and quarter.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience. At least 1 year of Workday experience. Canadian payroll experience is required. Union payroll experience is necessary (US or Canada).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.86/hr.
