Scope & Responsibilities
Dual leadership role: Maintenance + Engineering. Roughly 75% shop floor presence, 25% office. Hands-on, mechanically/electrically minded leader.
Direct reports: 2 Maintenance Supervisors (Day + Night) 40 Maintenance Mechanics (indirect via supervisors) 4 Engineers (direct) 24/7 operation (except 10 holidays per year). Top Priorities (First 6 12 Months) Get to know the team and plant operations. Establish structure, guidelines, and priorities. Provide strong leadership/mentorship while balancing technical knowledge.
Must-Haves / Preferences 10+ years in manufacturing maintenance/engineering leadership. 4-year degree, preferably in Operations Management, Business Management or Engineering Discrete manufacturing experience in paper or paperboard food packaging along with flexo roll fed / litho sheet fed printing, and thermoforming preferred Understanding of SPC and lean manufacturing principles. Strong tenure stability is critical (no string of 1 2 year stints without solid explanation). Blend of technical knowledge (mechanical/electrical/engineering) and leadership skills. Manufacturing experience is required; packaging/paper/plastics/food & beverage is a plus (not required).
Degree in Engineering preferred, not mandatory if experience is strong. Must be comfortable managing both people and projects.
Preferred Team problem solving; facilitation. Computer literate: MS Office, MS Project or other project management software a plus. BPCS manufacturing software system knowledge desirable. Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate orally and in writing; ability to present information one on one and in group settings, at all levels of the organization, under all circumstances; diplomatic. Detail oriented; organized; self-starter; flexible; change agent. Must be able to work concurrently on multiple priorities and projects.
Equipment & Systems
2 thermoforming lines. 2 flexographic wide-web print presses. Die cutters. Cup & plate formers.
Packaging equipment. (Experience with packaging/paper products = gold star, not a must-have).
