Description

You'll handle every step of patient meal service. Set up your tray assembly station with dishes, paper supplies, food, and condiments, and rotate items daily to keep everything fresh. Follow proper food-handling and sanitation practices while keeping your work area clean and organized. Present menus to patients, help them make selections, and deliver meals according to the diet master list. After service, collect trays, move food carts, and deliver snacks as needed. You'll also work in the dishroom and potroom, take care of housekeeping tasks, and maintain strict sanitation standards. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in food service, including tray assembly and delivery

Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English to match food items with menu selections

Effective team player on a fast-paced tray assembly line

Able to perform basic math calculations without a calculator

Basic knowledge of a variety of diets

Strong interpersonal skills to work with coworkers, medical staff, patients, supervisors, and management

Ability to follow the department dress code

Physically able to stand for long periods and repeatedly stretch, bend, push, walk, lift, and reach

Able to lift and push heavy carts

Willing to attend departmental training classes
