We Are Inspired to Serve. Join us! Part of a nation wide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Covenant Living is seeking a Receptionist. This position is accountable for greeting residents, staff, and visitors in person or on the telephone, in a manner that promotes Covenant Living in a positive, professional way.

Responsibilities

  • Answer all telephone calls as quickly as possible in a polite, personal, and friendly manner. Transfers calls appropriately. Take messages when the individual requested (resident or staff) is not available.
  • Monitor emergency system, direct staff to emergent situations, call emergency personnel as appropriate, and complete resident checks as appropriate to the desk.
  • Provide information to all visitors and direct them to the appropriate individual who can assist, ensuring that all visitors/contractors sign in and wear appropriate badges according to policy and procedure.
  • Keep the reception desk and lobby clean and organized after each shift.
  • Facilitate transportation requests to appropriate staff, coordinate and communicate the timing of transportation to residents and staff, and place courtesy calls to residents to remind them of transportation trips.
  • Assist residents in signing up for programs and activities and collect payments.
  • Be knowledgeable about all office equipment and be able to demonstrate how to use it to staff; monitor equipment and report supply needs and issues to the Office Manager.
  • Sell postage stamps to residents and staff, receive packages and mail, sort mail and log packages, and inform residents/staff of packages to pick up.
  • Facilitate maintenance requests, input requests into the system, and communicate urgent or emergent situations to appropriate staff.
  • Complete monthly charge sheets in accordance with procedure.
  • Support other departments in clerical duties as assigned by the Office Manager.
  • Support the reception team in clerical duties and maintenance of the reception area.

The ideal candidate will have

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Two years of customer service or clerical experience.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written in English.
  • Pleasant personality and telephone voice.
  • Ability to remain calm in an emergency situation.
  • Complete confidentiality when circulating general information.
  • Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interest in and desire to work with older adults.

Compensation Pay Range:

$18.07 - $21.71 per hour

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $18.07 - $21.71 per hour. There are numerous factors considered in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal/external equity.
