Overview
Koniag Information Technology Services (KITS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Network Administrator I to support our Army customer in Huntsville, Alabama. This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville, Alabama. Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure including switches, cabling, and fiber optics Assist in administering network systems supporting ITSM, Unified Communications, and mission-critical IT systems Support the implementation of network solutions to meet organizational requirements Help develop and maintain accurate network documentation including schematics and diagrams Support interoperability efforts between various networks (NIPR, SIPR, DREN) Assist in maintaining Information Assurance (IA) accreditation documentation for network systems Implement security measures in accordance with Army IA regulations and industry best practices Perform network upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance under supervision Provide user support across diverse network environments, addressing connectivity and access issues Contribute to the development of IT processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Support network load balancing implementation for optimal performance Monitor network performance and report issues to senior team members Participate in cross-functional teams on network-related projects and initiatives Stay informed on current network technologies and security practices Respond to and resolve basic to intermediate network incidents Document all work performed according to established procedures Education and Experience
Required: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in network support or administration Experience with network infrastructure management and troubleshooting Familiarity with classified and unclassified networks preferred Required Skills and Competencies
Current CompTIA Network+ or CCNA certification Knowledge of ITIL V4 framework and processes Understanding of Army Information Assurance regulations Familiarity with AMC Unified Communications, IT, and ITSM procedures Basic proficiency in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure (switches, cabling) Experience with network documentation and schematics Familiarity with NIPR, SIPR, and DREN network environments preferred Understanding of basic network security principles and practices Basic knowledge of load balancing concepts Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Good communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work under supervision and follow established procedures Willingness to learn and develop technical skills Current security clearance or ability to obtain required clearances Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama Desired Skills and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field CompTIA Security+ certification Experience with Department of Defense networks Familiarity with unified communications systems Basic knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure Experience with Army network standards and procedures Familiarity with ITSM tools and processes Basic understanding of network automation concepts Knowledge of network monitoring tools Understanding of IPv6 basics Familiarity with VoIP technologies Experience in a military or government IT environment Knowledge of standard network troubleshooting methodologies Basic understanding of virtualized network environments Eagerness to grow into more advanced network administration roles Equal Employment Opportunity
