Retail Planner
Centric Brands is seeking a motivated and analytical Retail Planner to join our planning team. This role will be responsible for developing account-level forecasts, managing inventory, and driving replenishment strategies for key retail partners including Amazon, Kohl's, JCPenney, and Target. The Retail Planner will collaborate closely with sales, operations, and retailer planning teams to optimize inventory flow, maximize sales, and achieve financial objectives. This is a highly visible role that requires both analytical strength and strong communication skills to influence internal and external partners. Key Responsibilities
Forecasting & Inventory Management Develop, update, and manage sales, receipt, and inventory forecasts across department store, mass, and e-commerce accounts. Build and maintain ladder plans to track retail sales and inventory productivity by account. Analyze historical trends, POS data, and market insights to improve forecast accuracy and support financial objectives. Retail Account Management Partner directly with retail planning and replenishment teams (Amazon, Kohl's, JCPenney, Target, etc.) to align on demand, replenishment, and inventory flow strategies. Monitor inventory levels to proactively identify risks of stockouts or overstocks and recommend solutions. Serve as a key contact for retailer partners, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer expectations. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with sales, operations, merchandising, and production teams to ensure smooth execution of buy plans and replenishment strategies. Align with sales leadership to develop strategies that support account growth and profitability. Communicate planning insights clearly to internal stakeholders, helping inform strategic and operational decisions. Reporting & Insights Create and maintain reporting tools and dashboards to track sales, margin, and inventory KPIs by account. Prepare presentations and business reviews for sales teams and retail partners, highlighting performance and opportunities. Leverage data-driven insights to recommend adjustments to plans and drive continuous improvement. Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or related field. Experience: 2+ years of experience in retail or merchandise planning, ideally in the fashion/apparel industry. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical foundation with advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH; macros a plus). Experience with planning or replenishment software required; system implementation experience a plus. Retail Knowledge: Experience working with mass and department store accounts; Amazon experience strongly preferred. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to both internal teams and external partners. Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with sales, operations, and retailer partners. Organization: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
