DIRECTOR Of DONOR EXPERIENCE

Who We Are and What We Believe: Bottom Line is a nationally recognized nonprofit founded in 1997, providing one-on-one guidance to degree-aspiring students of color from under-resourced communities through college and into careers. We focus on data-driven, mission-aligned work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

What You Will Do: The Director of Donor Experience supports Bottom Line’s engagement of all donors and prospects in the Boston area. The primary responsibility is to implement a robust calendar of events, activities, and communications that attract, cultivate, and steward a diversified donor base, including leading a signature $1M fundraising event that generates a significant portion of the regional budget (25%).

Responsibilities

Strategic Donor Engagement Vision & Planning: shape donor experiences and communications to align with regional goals; develop a comprehensive engagement strategy and multi-channel communications calendar; collaborate with regional and national teams to share best practices; ensure branding guidelines are followed.

Leadership of Signature Fundraising Events & Revenue Generation ($1M+ Goal): plan and execute the annual signature fundraising dinner; partner with leadership and advisory groups to reach the $1M+ goal through sponsorships and on-site giving; manage event plans, staff roles, logistics, and timelines; support frontline fundraisers in securing sponsorships; oversee revenue tracking and operations; manage vendor relationships with an inclusive DEI approach.

Execution of Donor Cultivation Events & Experiences: design and run a series of high-impact cultivation events and experiences; oversee logistics, communications, and reporting.

Support for Donor-Led and Third-Party Initiatives: lead or assist in donor-led and third-party events and manage their logistics, communications, and reporting.

Regional Donor Communications Strategy & Execution: develop segmented donor communications aligned with regional goals; support frontline fundraisers with brand assets; manage mailing lists and initial donor inquiries.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and work authorization

3-5 years’ experience in event planning, fundraising events, and relationship management

Proven success in planning events with 300+ attendees

Demonstrated commitment to Bottom Line’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values

Preferred: experience using Salesforce and event platforms such as Classy or GiveSmart; familiarity with the regional nonprofit landscape

Work Schedule Monday - Friday 9 - 5 or 10 - 6 (local time), and flexibility may be requested; Additional hours as needed

Expected Travel Approximately 3 times a year for team meetings
