Responsibilities
Supervise, assess, plan, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate patient care and staff development; determine and maintain unit or program needs and standards using the nursing process and evidence-based information. Assume responsibility and accountability for incorporating the organizations vision, values, mission, and critical goals into job performance. Assist the Clinical Director in managing the units assigned staff and patient population; provide direct patient care as needed and collaborate with physicians on the medical plan of care. Ensure compliance with policies, participate in budgeting, and promote a healthy work environment; participate in policy revisions and departmental goals and action planning. Recruit and retain talented staff through positive role modeling, coaching, and involvement in preceptor/mentor programs. Engage in inter/intra-departmental collaboration, rounds with physicians, patients, and families, and support quality improvement initiatives. Direct staff in applying the nursing process and coordinate patient care to promote independent functioning among employees. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Functions
Oversee staff, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and development; ensure patient care aligns with mission and values. Administer medications, manage IVs, monitor patients, and coordinate treatments; ensure financial stewardship and budget integrity. Serve as a resource to staff, patients, families, physicians, and visitors; teach patients and families about illness management, post-treatment care, nutrition, and exercise; facilitate problem solving and interdisciplinary collaboration. Coordinate educational activities related to department/unit needs. Contribute to recruitment and retention through mentorship and education programs. Perform regular rounds with physicians and families to support quality care and patient experience. Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure effective use of resources. Direct nursing process application and promote independent functioning among team members. Education
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; Arizona RN licensure required. Stroke patient care knowledge referenced in role addendum. Experience
2 years RN experience required 3 years RN experience preferred Licenses and Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required Must obtain certification in their area of expertise within 1 year of hire/promotion for magnet standards Arizona State Licensure or Compact State Licensure required Seniority level
