Responsibilities Job Summary Supervises, assesses, plans, coordinates, facilitates, and evaluates patient care and staff development. Assists the Clinical Director in managing the units staff and patient population. Provides direct patient care according to unit needs and collaborates with physicians on medical plans. Staff responsible for stroke patient care must have knowledge of stroke symptoms, protocols, NIHSS, stroke alert procedures, quality indicators, educational resources, and community services. Oversees staff, ensures adequate patient care, manages hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, coaching, and development. Ensures compliance with policies and manages departmental budget. Serves as a resource for staff, patients, families, physicians, and visitors. Teaches disease management, post-treatment care, and promotes a positive environment. Participates in policy and goal setting. Supports recruitment and retention, fosters professional development, and participates in educational activities. Regularly rounds with physicians, patients, and families. Uses evidence-based practices for patient care and quality improvement initiatives. Directs staff in nursing processes, coordinates patient care, and promotes staff independence. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. Must be licensed as a registered nurse in Arizona. Staff caring for stroke patients must meet additional educational requirements.

Experience Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3 years preferred.

Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Certification in area of expertise within 1 year of hire or promotion. Arizona RN license required.
