NPW
is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role will be heavily involved in day-to-day accounting operations while supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvements. Who is NPW? NPW is a leading independent automotive aftermarket parts distributor. The Company has over 500 employees, 50 company owner locations in 14 states that include both stores and warehouses. NPW was founded in 1969 and has grown significantly through the successful completion of 30 acquisitions and organic endeavors. Responsibilities: The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and executive team, providing accurate financial insights to support company growth. Candidate must have a strong knowledge of accounting, an understanding of GAAP accounting standards and have strong reconciliation / analysis skills. The position will prove to be challenging and rewarding with an opportunity to grow with the organization. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Controller to oversee daily accounting functions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close schedules Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages Support cash flow forecasting and monitor working capital Ensure compliance with GAAP,

tax requirements, and internal policies Partner with operations to provide financial analysis and help improve business decision-making Assist to identify and implement process improvements, including automation and system enhancements Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff Coordinate with external CPA firm for annual audit and tax filings Lead special projects and development activities as assigned by Controller and CFO.
Educational & Skills Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, CPA designation preferred 3 – 5 years of progressive accounting experience Excel Power User, with strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Word; ability to quickly learn ERP system(s) Proven Leadership experience Background in both public and private accounting. Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated integrity, professionalism and sense of urgency Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong cross-functional relationships Team-oriented mindset with customer-service focus Proactive, self-starter with a high degree of ownership and accountability Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment Experience dealing with multi-state sales taxes returns Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
