Base pay range

$13.00/hr - $13.50/hr

General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to achieve Customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assists Customers as needed — register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions politely and knowledgeably. Greets Customers with eye contact, smiles, and a friendly greeting throughout the store; expresses thanks at each register transaction.
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers and Service calls; resolves issues courteously and with the help of Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping, restocking supplies) to maintain a clean store and well-maintained merchandise presentation.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
  • Performs daily store upkeep and recovery to ensure neat, clean, and organized presentation per standards.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per monthly presentation guidelines; maintains brand name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
  • Understands Loss Prevention Awareness, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise; demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions.
  • Follows all policies concerning cash, checks, credit cards, refunds, voids, and offline procedures with accuracy.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/ADA

  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • Associates who work Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
