Overview
Event Accountant – Contract (Houston, TX Area, Primarily Remote)
LHH is seeking detail-oriented and adaptable Event Accountants to support confidential event operations. This contract role is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy working across multiple functions to ensure financial accuracy and operational excellence.
Location
- Candidates must be local to the Houston, TX area
- Primarily remote; occasional travel to event sites required to collect invoices, paperwork, and other accounting-related documents
- All necessary equipment provided and shipped to your home
- ASAP start through December 2026
- Strong potential for extension
Pay Rate
- $30–$40 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bookkeeping and prepare profit & loss statements for assigned event venues
- Oversee event financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Prepare and process invoices, ensuring alignment with event budgets and contracts
- Handle accounts payable, ensuring vendor invoices are paid promptly and correctly
- Manage high-volume financial transactions with precision and efficiency
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve financial queries and maintain strong relationships
- Support finance managers with reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis
- Utilize NetSuite for financial tracking, reporting, and reconciliation
- Contribute to the development of financial processes for ticketing operations (new to the U.S. market)
- Adapt quickly to evolving business needs and wear multiple hats as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in general accounting, including AR, AP, reconciliation, and invoicing
- Experience at the Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant level preferred
- Experience in hospitality, vendor communication, event site operations, or similar industries is a plus
- Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-performance environment
Training & Support
- 30-day training period led by direct manager and supported by accounting team members
- Collaborative, high-performing team culture
- Fully remote except for required travel to event venues
- No designated office space; equipment provided
- Travel required in the weeks leading up to and following matches
- Onsite duties include picking up invoices, payroll documents, and other accounting materials

- Strong communication and organizational skills
