Overview

We are seeking a qualified Accounting Associate (Junior Accountant) to work for a great company in the Ronkonkoma, NY area.

This is a Direct Hire, In Office Role.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team in Ronkonkoma. This role is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting and finance functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries

  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Assist in budget preparation and tracking

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

  • Support the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting

  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support

  • Stay current on accounting principles and regulations; recommend process improvements

  • Assist the Accounting Manager in reconciling revenue accounts monthly

  • Communicate changes in financial information to relevant stakeholders

  • Escalate issues to management as needed

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Strong understanding of accounting figures and concepts

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Salary: Depending on experience — $55,000 to $65,000 per year
