Overview
Hobart Filler Metals, an ITW company, seeks an experienced Accountant to join our onsite team in Troy, OH. You will partner with the Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial operations, including payroll, month-end close, reconciliations, and raw material inventory oversight. This role supports informed business decisions, safeguards company resources, and drives operational success.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting
- Coordinate with managers and the corporate payroll team to process payroll accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare the business unit’s overhead department budget for the Annual Plan and monthly reporting.
- Prepare and report operational metrics for distribution to the organization.
- Support the business unit through the analysis and explanation of the business unit’s monthly expenses.
- Manage cash account balances and deposits as needed.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure financial statements are supported by proper documentation.
- Ensure all journal entries are completed accurately and timely to meet month-end and quarter-end close due dates.
- Inventory & Asset Management
- Monitor the business unit’s raw material inventory balance via monthly cycle counts and troubleshoot discrepancies to ensure accuracy for physical inventory exemption approval.
- Close and end production orders within the ERP system.
- Business Process Improvement
- Proficiency in all corporate financial policies and procedures and ensure adherence.
- Apply sound judgment to reduce complexity and simplify processes; monitor, report, and drive Toolbox projects.

Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3+ years of general accounting experience in manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong computer, oral, and written communication skills are required (Word and Excel).
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus.
