Diagnostic Imaging Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan.
Job Description:
- Perform diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, verifying patient identity and reviewing medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure.
- Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history, assess risk factors, and explain procedures, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up.
- Set up equipment, acquire images, review them, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologists, recognizing and responding to medical emergencies as necessary.
- Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Computed Tomography (CT) preferred.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required by end of orientation period.
- One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology or advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT).
