Job Title: IT Support Specialist / Senior Systems Engineer
Pay Rate: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour (plus overtime opportunities)

Summary:
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users within the organization. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of the company's technology infrastructure.

In addition, the Senior Systems Engineer role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficiency of the in-house information systems supporting core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the IT Team to ensure smooth, reliable network and systems operations that fulfill business objectives and processes.
  • Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
  • Perform cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses for proposed systems to assist management in decision-making.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide the IT team.
  • Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and recovery processes in line with disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Integrate servers (including cloud, e-mail, print, and backup servers) and related software into company IT systems.
  • Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, and applications.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
  • Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver performance reports.
  • Provide orientation and training to end-users for modified and new systems.
  • Provide guidance and assign tasks to System Administrators.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.
  • Strong background in systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to research systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in user-friendly language.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
