Mental Health Therapist - Inpatient, Days Description: RESPONSIBLE FOR: Provide Psychiatric and/or Chemical Dependency counseling services to the patients admitted to Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health inpatient units. Qualifications: MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Master's Degree required MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, either inpatient or outpatient / partial hospital setting addressing both psychiatric and chemical dependency issues with clients. A minimum of two years of supervised experience in psychiatric setting or addictive disease treatment setting, or minimum of three years of continuous active recovery in twelve-step program. Strong communication skills in both oral and written format. Flexibility to intervene on a moment's notice. Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance from team members when necessary. Knowledgeable in innovative therapeutic interventions for the population served. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Professional certification and/or licensure as LCSW; LMSW; LMFT; LPC or actively pursuing such certification and/or licensure with projected completion within 2.5 years of hire required. American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification. CPI certification within the first 90 days of employment required. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partner's needs. Basic computer skills. Good working knowledge of community resources for psychiatry, psychotherapy, and mutual support groups in local and surrounding area.
