Soliant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Full-Time School Social Worker
to join our team in Downers Grove, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting the emotional, social, and psychological well-being of students, fostering a positive school climate, and promoting academic success. The role will involve providing direct counseling services, crisis intervention, and collaborating with staff, parents, and community resources to create a holistic support system for students.
Experience in special education is preferred. Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and develop intervention strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special education needs.
Offer crisis intervention and provide support to students in distress.
Act as a liaison between the school, family, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive support services.
Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
Promote a positive school climate through programs that foster social-emotional learning and conflict resolution.
Provide consultation to teachers and staff regarding student behavior, mental health concerns, and family dynamics.
Support students in navigating challenges related to bullying, peer relationships, and adjustment to school life.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with district policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field.
Valid state licensure as a Social Worker (e.g., LCSW, LICSW).
Previous experience working as a School Social Worker or in a school setting preferred.
Special Education experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of special education laws, IEP processes, and behavior management techniques.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
Experience with crisis intervention and handling sensitive situations.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive weekly pay:
$40 - $52 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
