With a strong commitment to protecting our assets, residents, and partners, we are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to oversee and manage all legal disputes related to our business operations.

Position Overview The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for handling a wide range of litigation matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, contract enforcement, fair housing claims, vendor disputes, personal injury claims, and other real estate-related cases. This individual will work closely with our property management and executive teams to proactively mitigate risks, ensure compliance with applicable laws, and protect the company’s legal interests.

Key Responsibilities Represent the company in litigation matters, including court appearances, arbitration, and mediation. Evictions Manage cases related to landlord-tenant disputes, evictions, security deposit claims, habitability issues, and lease enforcement. Handle vendor and contractor disputes, including breach of contract claims. Oversee claims related to premises liability, property damage, and personal injury. Provide legal advice on fair housing, ADA compliance, and state/local property management regulations. Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents. Work with outside counsel when necessary, managing costs and case strategy. Collaborate with the property management team to develop policies that minimize litigation risks. Keep leadership updated on pending cases, potential liabilities, and legal trends affecting property management.

Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in CA. 5+ years of litigation experience, with a strong background in real estate, property management, or landlord-tenant law. In-depth knowledge of fair housing laws, landlord-tenant statutes, ADA regulations, and contract law. Strong negotiation, communication, and courtroom advocacy skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with excellent legal research and drafting skills.

Preferred Skills Prior experience representing property management companies, landlords, or real estate investors. Familiarity with insurance claims and risk management in real estate. Experience with alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Strong business acumen and ability to align legal strategy with company goals.
