Arts & Learning Conservatory
We are seeking passionate and skilled band instructors to teach after-school elementary band classes in Orange County/ Paramount. Instructors will work with grades 3-5, teaching students how to read sheet music, set up and hold their instruments properly, and play with proficiency. Classes range from beginner to intermediate levels and meet twice a week after school from approximately 2:30-3:30 PM. Multiple schools and class opportunities are available, running from October to May/June with three performances throughout the year. Classes follow the school schedule and do not meet on non-school days.
Instruments Needed: · Flute · Clarinet · Alto Saxophone · Trumpet · Trombone · Percussion
Duties: · Provide high-quality instrumental instruction · Teach note reading, music theory, proper technique, and posture · Manage a class with students learning different instruments simultaneously · Foster a positive and engaging learning environment · Conduct class rehearsals and prepare students for concerts/performances
Minimum Requirements: · Enthusiastic personality that is engaging to children · At least one year of experience teaching children instrumental music · Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in music education or performance · Ability to manage a classroom effectively · Strong organizational skills
Additional Requirements: · Live Scan fingerprinting (through Arts & Learning Conservatory) · TB test · CPR certification · Sexual Harassment & Bullying training (provided by ALC)
Job Type: Part-time Expected Hours: 3-10 hours per week
