Under the general supervision of the Project Manager, the Account Manager acts as the primary point of contact between a company and its clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction. They are responsible for understanding client needs, developing strategies to meet those needs, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver solutions. Requirements:
Essential Functions Communicating with clients by phone, through email and face-to-face to ensure their needs are understood and addressed Building strong client relationships to maintain existing business and acquire new customers Collaborating with various internal departments to ensure they fulfill all customer requests Resolving complaints and keeping track of all processes that pertain to the client’s desires Document facts regarding various communications both internally and externally and maintain necessary BDI systems to track business transactions Acting as the client’s representative in a firm to ensure their demands are met with a focus on improving the customer experience Collecting and analyzing data concerning consumer behavior to understand changing needs Travel to customer sites approximately 10% Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Physical Requirements In a typical workday, employee is sitting, writing, talking and hearing, reaching; standing, bending, stooping; lifting weight of forty (40) lbs; occasional, and overnight travel by car or airplane to visit customer site or other service center locations as business-related sales activity (including conferences, trade shows). Working Environment Work environment is typically general office, though employee may spend short periods of time in the warehouse to assist customers, check on stock and the status of specific sales orders with exposure including but not limited to dust, dirt, heat, cold, high noise levels. Work environment will be dependent upon the needs of customers, condition of roads traveling to the customer's place of business, or job locations, weather, etc. Competencies · Excellent communication skills · Listening Skills: Understands that the most important aspect of communication is listening and actively works to improve those skills · Oral Skills: Speaks with confidence using clear, concise statements and is easily understood · Written Skills: Produces well thought-out, professional correspondence · Telephone/E-mail: uses high quality, professional oral and written skills (as described above) to project a positive image of the business · Customer Orientation: Interacts professionally with customers and associates. Promptly responds to requests with accuracy and courtesy. · Attention to details: Understand and document into actionable items to resolve customer issues Requirements · College degree (Bachelor degree preferred) and /or (2) two years applicable experience in account management · Prefer minimum of two (2) years working knowledge of the steel and the steel processing industry. · Knowledge of principles and techniques of Sales, Marketing and Organization Administration. · Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business information, · Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers and other employees · Experience in calculating figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry. · Computer/Office Skills: working knowledge of latest Windows Operating Platform, Microsoft business applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfortable using the internet for sourcing and obtaining competitive and marketing data. · Must possess a valid Driver’s License
