A Machinist operates, maintains, and troubleshoots computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high precision metal parts and components according to specifications and has familiarity with manual machining methods. Key responsibilities include reading blueprints, setting up machines, monitoring production, performing quality control checks with measuring tools, and performing routine maintenance. This requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, problem solving abilities and a solid understanding of mechanics and mathematics. Requirements: Duties 1. Transfer, set-up and run CAM software in CNC Machines. 2. Perform general preventive maintenance on CNC Machines 3. Check parts produced and then verify to print. 4. Perform any other duties as requested by management or your immediate supervisor.
General Requirements 1. Be in good physical health and capable of working with and moving equipment of up to several hundred pounds 2. Work efficiently on your own. 3. Be able to function within a team environment. 4. Knowledge of all safety rules and policies of the Company, with a passing grade of 80% or greater on a written test.
Primary Requirements 1. Education, minimum of acceptable high school degree or GED 2. 2-year or more degree in machining. 3. Must furnish standard machinist tools / BDI provides financing to acquire additional tools and supplies specialty tools. 4. Must be able to read blueprints and make accurate simple drawings and sketches 5. Must be able to properly read and use all machine shop measuring equipment 6. Completion and certification of a forklift safety training course provided by Bohn and Dawson 7. Be able to transfer setup and run CAM software in all CNC machines
