School-Based About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
to join our dynamic educational team for the 20252026 school year. This full-time, school-based position will support students in grades
K through 12
across one or more school sites in
Richmond, CA . As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to help students access the educational curriculum and school environment through therapy, adaptive strategies, and collaboration with educators and families. Key Responsibilities:
Implement individualized OT intervention plans designed by the supervising OT
Support students in developing fine motor, visual motor, sensory integration, and self-care skills
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student success in the classroom
Provide therapy services in both individual and group settings
Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with IEP goals and school policies
Assist in evaluations and re-evaluations under OT supervision
Participate in IEP meetings as needed
Qualifications:
Associates degree from an accredited OTA program
Current
California COTA license
(Board of Occupational Therapy)
Experience working with school-aged children preferred
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Ability to adapt to various school environments and student needs
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting diverse learners
