USGP is seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Physician to deliver high-quality care to our military service members, veterans, and their families at the VA Medical Center in Marion, IN. This is a rewarding opportunity to serve those who have served our country while gaining experience in a federal healthcare setting.
Position Highlights
Pay Rate: Competitive compensation starting at $145/hour
Malpractice Insurance: Fully covered by USGP
Work Schedule: Two (2) 12-hour shifts per week Additional second physician coverage: Monday Friday: 10:00 AM 8:00 PM Friday Sunday:
Additional 8-hour double coverage shifts
On-Call: No on-call responsibilities
Full-time availability preferred, but flexible scheduling options may be considered Must be able to work overnight shifts
Minimum Qualifications
Education: MD or DO from an accredited program
Licensure: Valid and unrestricted state medical license
DEA Certification: Current DEA certificate or Controlled Substance Registration
Board Certification: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
Experience: Minimum of 3 years recent ER experience (Residency training counts toward experience)
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a federal background check
Scope of Work Physicians will provide initial evaluation, emergency treatment, and ongoing management of a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to: General ER care including minor wound and trauma management, burns, respiratory and gastrointestinal issues Procedures such as laceration repair, catheterization, venous line insertion, spinal immobilization, and more
Specialty Care Areas: Cardiovascular, hematologic, endocrine, and metabolic emergencies Neurological and psychiatric crises OB/GYN and urological issues Ophthalmic, ENT, and musculoskeletal trauma Infectious disease and environmental exposures (e.g., hypothermia, near drowning) You will play a key role in delivering timely, compassionate, and comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population.
