Employment scope includes Yale New Haven Health System hospitals and affiliated networks. This description reflects the CRNA role within a 24/7 call model and core team responsibilities.
Provides exceptional patient care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other physicians to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. Focuses on a patient-centric approach that addresses physical, psychosocial, spiritual and functional needs of patients and families. Serves as the focal professional for continuity of care within scope of practice standards and specialty-specific standards. A call CRNA is part of a core team providing timely anesthetic and emergency care in a 24/7 model. This full-time position includes in-house call responsibilities, with a flexible, non-patterned schedule, including off-shifts, weekends and holidays. A call CRNA is eligible for the call compensation program.
Schedule Requirements: Availability to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of the restricted in-house call rotation; willingness to respond to emergency calls; required to provide anesthesia services within the hospital setting. Notice requirements: 90 days' notice when transitioning or resigning from the call team.

- Implements accurate, safe, patient-centric anesthetic care (CRNA)
- Professional Skill
- Understands physiologic implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures; continuously monitors vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines
- Information Management
- Ensures appropriate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements; protects information in all forms from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure

- Demonstrates high moral and ethical standards, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Completion of a Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program; Graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the AANA; Current State of Connecticut Nursing License; APRN licensure in Connecticut
EXPERIENCE
Prefer clinical working experience as a CRNA within the given specialty/service line; none required. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs and CNMs must be appointed to the affiliated medical staff and credentialed through the medical staff process. Evidence of current competence via reference letters must be obtained during the appointment process.
LICENSURE
CRNA (AANA Certification); State of CT RN and APRN License; ACLS; DEA Registration; State of CT Controlled Substance Registration
SPECIAL SKILLS
CRNAs must have sharp concentration and focus, clear communication with surgeons, surgical teams, patients and families; remain calm under stress; adapt to fast-paced environments
PHYSICAL DEMAND
CRNA must have adequate vision, hearing, tactile sensation, and the ability to lift 25 pounds; stand for long periods; move patients between locations; coordinate gross and fine motor movements and sensory perceptions
